That doesn't sound like what I am talking about, this is from a Disaster recovery standpoint, there will not be an opportunity to remove this server from a farm since it has crashed. What I want to do is replace the crashed server, in this case Metaframe2, with a spare server. I want to put the spare server online, give it the same name and IP as the crashed server and know if it will be seamless to the users. Can this be done? For Example I have a Windows 2000 SP2 Metaframe XP FR1 Server called Metaframe2, I just built another server the same configuration and it is called Metaframe. Is it possible to take Metaframe2 offline, put Metaframe Online, change it's IP address to the same as Metaframe2, and then rename it to Metaframe2. Will this work? I ask because I would like to use this as a disaster recovery procedure, server crashes, put a spare online.
