Yes, thats the case if you have stateful packet inspection on your firewall,
as all other related packets should be allowed in both directions. Some
firewalls may not allow the return packets though if they dont have stateful
packet inspection and the host doesnt have full outbound access.

It should only require inbound 3389/TCP. I do this on Watchguard and
Cisco firewalls as well.

Open 3389 inbound. If it doesn't work, then enable outbound as well. It
works inbound only on our fw configuration.

To access an internal machine from outside the network using Remote
Desktop Web Connection, does 3389 have to be open TO the firewall or
just FROM the firewall to the remote desktop? I would assume that
everything rides over HTTP (80), but is this correct?
