For what ever reason, Microsoft does not allow users to use regini.exe and regstdprov(vbscript) to modify HKCU values. You can use a WSH or KIX script to modify these values. Now I am testing Windows 2003 / PS4 and when the logon script runs it says "Editing the registry has been disabled by the admin". I looked around, and saw there was a gp rule for not allowing access to registry editing tools, but changing that did not help. Then I saw a posting in a google group saying that this will not work, but not explaining why. I was hoping someone out there can verify or explain what might have changed? Thanks!
