I installed the Admin tools as well. Since I wanted that there for remote
administration purposes, I didn't want to remove it. This fix allowed me to
keep them installed. It's good to know what caused it though. Thanks.

We had this problem and found that we had installed the Exchange admin
tools, which use a different MAPI32.dll, onto servers that were running
Outlook. Removing the tools fixed our problems.

This was an error that I got on a recent Office 2003/Server 2003 deployment.

"A recently installed program may cause Microsoft Office or other
e-mail-enabled programs to function improperly. Outlook can resolve this
conflict without affecting the program that originally caused the problem.
Do you want Outlook to resolve this problem?"

The workaround here

<http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;256946> seems to
have fixed that problem.
