Pavlo, thanks very much. You answered my question. I know all about the
best practises and all the comments made by the rest of the guys, but I just
wanted to know the affects of installing an application while the system is
being used. You have indeed answered that perfectly.

Thanks a lot guys.

Mustafa,

If you switch server to Install mode your connected users gonna be just
fine. They will not be disconnected. I tried this with several softwares and
it worked just fine. In fact I was installing a newer version of Patient
Information system and all I had to do was to kick these few users off who
were using that package I was about to update. Users that were using other
packages (Ofice, financials) stayed logged on and since Patient Information
system did not require a reboot everybody were a happy campers.

Hi all,

I haven't really tried this, but I thought I'd run it by you guys. Is it
possible to install a simple application that doesn't need a reboot on a
Windows 2000 Terminal server running MF1.8 without having to kick all the
attached users off the system?

Someone mentioned about the fact that the mere switch to install mode will
automatically disconnect all TS client sessions. Any thoughts much
appreciated.

Mustafa
