I've just tested content redirection and it does not seem to work, at least from Program Neighborhood. Word and Powerpoint attachments still open from the server app.? I'm not using NFUSE. _________________________________ Hector Minero NSWCDD Code K55 Ph: (540)653-8859 Fax:(540)653-8575 -----Original Message----- From: Minero Hector B DLVA [mailto:MineroHB@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Thursday, February 20, 2003 1:15 PM To: 'thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx' Subject: [THIN] Re: Published App. question We're only trying to publish Outlook. We want all attachments to open using the local client apps. Link speed should not be an issue for us. Do you think content redirection will do the job? I'm not runnins NFUSE, is it needed for this? _________________________________ Hector Minero NSWCDD Code K55 Ph: (540)653-8859 Fax:(540)653-8575 -----Original Message----- From: Ron Oglesby [mailto:roglesby@xxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Thursday, February 20, 2003 12:53 PM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Re: Published App. question Content redirection (Server to Client) might help. But I could see some problem with it if it did work. First your clients have to be at a specific level and if you set this up users that should use Word off the server are going to wind up trying to pull it from their client device etc.... So you can give it a shot but it may not be worth it. OH and if you are doing this over low speed links you could see issues since a user may be opening something that (like a 20 mb doc or something) now has to transfer over the wire instead of just opening on the server. For reasons beyond our control, we need to publish Outlook to some users, but we want all mail attachments to use the users' local applications, not the Citrix server's.=20 I've published Outlook; however, attachmnets use the server's apps, not the local desktop's. Is there a way to accomplish what I need? Any help is appreciated. _________________________________ Hector Minero NSWCDD Code K55 Ph: (540)653-8859 Fax:(540)653-8575 ********************************************************* This Week's Sponsor - Neoware=20 Now through March 31, 2003=20 Neoware is offering a Capio 500/Eon Proven 2100=20 for $299!
