Thanks Jeremy. A quick google suggests we aren't the only ones experiencing

How bizare? I made a follow up phone call today to a customer who's farm we recently redeployed from XP FR3 to PS4, and this was their only issue. There must be something in the air :)

They were going to try updating drivers, as these particular printers are
not using the UPD. But the UPD drivers are standard HP drivers anyway. I
think it's something to do with the Citrix Print Manager service and the
printer autocreation process. And seeing this thread tells me that maybe I
should just log a call with Citrix since it's not just my client having a
problem.

I'll post back to this thread if Citrix tell me anything of use.

Cheers.

Thanks. I'm considering using the UPD for all autocreated printers but the odd thing is that we haven't had the issue before then suddenly it appears with no farm changes done. Very odd.

We have been plagued with this issue on and off since 1.8. We are running 4.0 on Windows 2003 and we made it go away by not using the universal print driver and mapping print drivers. It NEVER happens on a mapped print driver but occasionally happens for the universal print driver.

My PS4 farm has recently started setting printers offline. I'd
previously
reported and tracked down a similar problem where printers were going
offline on my HP T5520 terminals but this is a different one. The HP
problem
came down to a problem with the most recent firmware. This one is
happening
to PCs running the 9.150 client. Symptoms are that autocreated print
queues
seem to randomly go offline and queue jobs. The only way to clear them
is to
have the user log off. Rebooting the server chases the problem away for
a
while.

It sounds just like CTX106746, I hear you all cry in unison and indeed
you'd
be correct. However, the hotfix to fix that one (incorporated in the
hotfix
rollup) was applied to all servers a while ago. This is a recent problem
that has only appeared in the last few weeks, while I was on holiday. My
staff all swear they haven't modified any servers.

I can see nothing that looks relevant in any event logs.

So, has anyone else nailed this one?
Angus
