Hello all I'm having some difficulties with a user who has NT Workstation 4, connecting to a Win2K WTS server. Following MS KnowledgeBase article Q230998 ("Windows 2000 Terminal Services Server Logs Events 1111, 1105, and 1106"), I have created a printer mapping substitution file (creatively called "NTPrtSubs.INF" :-). File is as follows: =========== Cut Here ========== ; ; This file provides printer name aliases. Some clients have one name ; for a printer, and Win2K has a different one (differences in case, ; spacing, etc). SO this file defines aliases. [Version] Signature="$Chicago$" [Printers] ; ; Printer name on client = Printer name on server ; ; Bob's printer, on WinME "HP DeskJet 720C Series v10.3" = "HP DeskJet 722C" ; Sue's printer, HP OfficeJet Gx85, on WinNT "HP OfficeJet G Series" = "HP DeskJet 550C" =========== Cut Here ========== (I got the entry for the OfficeJet from digging in this list's archives) Bob seems to work; I get no event log errors about that printer when he logs in (good thing, too, because that's my boss :-). But Sue is showing Event 1105, "Printer security information for the printer HP OfficeJet G Series/SUE/Session 3 could not be set. ". Any idea what I'm doing wrong? I don't have another OfficeJet to install onto the server (the install apparently doesn't finish properly unless it can find an attached OfficeJet), to get the Win2K drivers for this particular model. I thought the above mapping would take care of that. I just need her to be able to print; don't need all the other fancy stuff, such as faxing. (she can do that manually :-) I saw reference to the Project Compatibility program, but that's only for MetaFrame, right? Won't help me, since I use Win2K Windows Terminal Services.
