First New Product In Citrix MetaFrame Access Suite Makes Access to
Applications over the Internet Easy, Secure and More Cost-effective Without
the Need for a VPN
NEW YORK, NY ? 3/18/2003 ? Citrix Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: CTXS), the global
leader in access infrastructure solutions, today introduced Citrix®
MetaFrame® Secure Access Manager, infrastructure software that provides
secure, single-point access over the Internet to virtually any internal and
external information resources, including applications, data sources,
documents, Web content and services.
With little-to-no programming, IT administrators can provide the entire
?on-demand enterprise? to users in a Web browser and through a secure
Internet connection, giving employees the flexibility to access virtually
any information source from their own personal computer, a customer site, an
Internet kiosk or any other public access point. Building on technology from
Citrix® NFuse® Elite, the new product improves security with
SSL/TSL-encrypted secure access over the Internet ? similar to that of a

Customers and Analysts Show Keen Interest in Enhanced Security Solution
Interest in the Citrix customer base of more than 120,000 organizations for
the new Citrix MetaFrame Access Manager is strong. In a recent survey of
Citrix customers, nearly 60 percent of respondents cited a remote access
need or pain point as the motivator for increasing their purchase levels of
Citrix products. Roughly half of the customers polled (49 percent) have
employees working outside the office, almost half (44 percent) said they
have more than five offices, and nearly a third (30 percent) have 10 or more
offices that they need to keep linked using application infrastructure.
Moreover, of the customers we polled, 14 percent indicated that they use our
SSL encryption technology today and 17 percent plan to use Citrix SSL
technology in the future to provide secure access to the on-demand
enterprise.
