But how does the 2000 license get sent to the client? (not the citrix
license).

Our clients are using the citrix client but I don't understand how the 2000
cals get issued to them? It has to get sent to them over a specific port.

Hopefully your server that runs Terminal Servicing Licensing is in the same
internal network as your Citrix server. Citrix server will talk to the
Licensing server over whatever ports are necessary to get the license for
the client. This conversation should not go through the firewall that your
client is going through.

What about the terminal server licensing portion of it? 1604 or 3389?

Thanks for your response.

You need an Internet-routable IP address and open 1494.

We are running a Windows 2000 Citrix XP farm. The Windows 2000 Terminal
Services licensing service is running on a Windows 2000 domain controller in
the same domain as our Citrix farm. While all of our servers are located on
the same LAN, most of our Citrix clients connect in from a remote location
and therefore must traverse the firewall. What ports need to be open on the
firewall to allow terminal services client licenses to be assigned, as well
as establishing connections and load balancing our Citrix farm?

Thanks in advance,
Paul
