Hi,

The default location for outlook 2000/2002 attachments is under
%userprofile%\local settings\temporary internet files\. This gets hosed on
logoff if you've got roaming profiles. If you run IE first, before outlook,
the directory gets re-created, no problems saving attachments. If outlook is
run first, and you try and save an attachment, then it'll fail.

We "fixed" this by doing a check on login, eg.

If not exist "%userprofile%\local settings\temporary internet files" md
"%userprofile%\local settings\temporary internet files".

No more error.

Note the secure file location can also be changed.

regards,

Rick

Check the path to the Temporary Internet Files for the user. In all of
my cases that I've come across this problem, it's been the location of
the Temporary Internet Files location in IE. If you are publishing just
the application, you will have to log into a desktop as the user to get
that info, unless you know of where the regkey is.

Subject: [THIN] Outlook and Citrix attachment problem

I have users in outlook trying to save attachments from emails in
outlook 2000. When doing this they get a message like they don't have
rights to the directory or something. But they do. I can go to explorer
and create and save files to the same directory all day long with no
problem but when they do it in outlook it won't let them. any have any
ideas what this might be?

thanks,
