Subject: [THIN] Outlook Express and IE icon in quick launch menu (resolved)

I thought I'd pass this along as I am sure I'm not the only one who has
wanted to get rid of the Outlook Express and IE icons from the Quick Launch
menu. Remember to backup your registry before modifying!!

Outlook Express (delete key to remove icon)

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Active Setup\Installed
Components\{44BBA840-CC51-11CF-AAFA-00AA00B6015C}

IE Icon (delete key to remove)

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Active Setup\Installed
Components\{89820200-ECBD-11cf-8B85-00AA005B4383}

Keep in mind that this will not remove any already created icons. It will
keep them from being generated when a new user logs in. I also noticed that
removing IE icon also removed the "Show Desktop" icon. I added the show
desktop icon back by placing it in the Documents and Settings\Default
User\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\ folder.

Now when a user logs on they get the quick launch menu only showing the
"show desktop" icon.
