As to question (1) I'm getting an uncanny sense of deja vu, or should that
be d'veja du ;-)

This was discussed at reasonable length only recently - search the archives.

As to question (2) - this is reasonably tricky to circumvent the security in
outlook. I remember playing with it briefly, quite a while back - and it's
no mean feat. I seem to recall needing to use an admin utility to apply a
different security template to outlook, and you'll probably need to sign and
pre-empt this signature for your app. But my memory is a bit sketchy on
this, so TechNet is your friend.
