Ed,

Have not installed it on any of our compaq severs yet, waiting for about 30
days to have the sp shaken out first - remember NT sp6 and then a fix NT
sp6a.  Just being cautious here.

That is some funny stuff,

Ed

PS: True, very true, Qchain.exe makes it very nice to roll up about 20
hotfixes on the servers and have it work with 1 reboot. Nice to see SP3 and
Post Sp3 hotfixes are working with Qchain.exe already built in.

Has anybody had problems with SP3 on Win2k Server running on Compaq
DL380,DL580's Dl320,DL360's or ML370/570's?

I found this intriguing.

This is taken directly from the Hotfix Installation and Deployment Guide
available at:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/downloads/servicepacks/sp3/hfdeploy.htm

(Link may wrap)

<----start quote------>
Hotfix chaining during update installations is supported in Windows 2000.
Qchain.exe is a utility that enables you to install multiple hotfixes
without having to restart your computer after each one is installed. If
multiple hotfixes replace the same file, Qchain.exe ensures that the
correct
version is installed. Windows 2000 SP3 and all post-SP3 hotfixes have
Qchain.exe functionality built in. You can install SP3 and then install any
number of post-SP3 hotfixes without having to restart the computer in
between. To determine whether a given hotfix was released after SP3,
download the hotfix and check the naming convention used. All post-SP3
hotfixes use the following naming convention:

Q######_W2K_SP4_x86_en.exe
<----end quote------>

Very interesting... they finally realized that we aren't applying these
things one at a time!

Just thought I'd share...
