Hi Matt,

 

So do you strip the .gif and still deliver the message or do you drop
the message entirely? 

 

If I strip the image and deliver it, then I'm still faced with a spam
email even though there is no content. I'm afraid if I drop messages
that contain a .gif then I'll end up with a ton of false positives, but
I imagine that we're going to see more spam inside of images before too
long.

I banned *.gif files last year and have not regretted it. I use a open
relay filter that just removes the *.gif files from the email.
