Correction: In another place in the User Manual I found that you have to have ePO server stopped before you backup and restore the database. So now I can backup and restore databases that are on the corresponded servers (ex. I can backup and restore new empty DB and backup and restore production one). I guess the question now would be: if I try to restore a ePO database created on server server_name1 to a server server_name2 will the MSDE engine give me an restore error because the source and destination server names are different? Can I change a database_server name (in the DB file) so my new server will think it is his database? Any help is very appreciated Pavlo -----Original Message----- From: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of Pavlo Ignatusha Sent: Sunday, February 23, 2003 9:56 AM To: Thin. Org (E-mail) Subject: [THIN] OT: moving McAfee ePO Orchestrator database Hi group, I need to move McAfee ePO Orchestrator database (v2.0) from NT server to W2K server. I followed the instructions in the Installation guide (made fresh install on the W2K server (including MSDE), backed up NT database using dbbak.exe, transferred file to the w2k server and started the dbbak.exe to restore database from this file). The error I'm getting is: "Restore failed. Check if the database is in use" I know it is not a problem with the NT database file cause I backed up empty database from this W2K install and could not restore it with the same error message. The SQL server is running, MSDTC is not (should it?). I also tried to stop ePO server and do the restore with no luck. I think it is a problem with W2K database that is going to be overwritten. Somehow it thinks that it is in use and doesn't let me go ahead. Any ideas, please... Pavlo Ignatusha Systems and Network Coordinator Pembroke General Hospital Tel. (613) 732-3675 ext.6150 Fax.
