It's a toss up if the damn thing is going to work or not. I would go with NetGear or LinkSys. I've had pretty good experiences with them. We have Lucent wireless access points here at work. I then take my laptop home (with a Lucent Gold PCMCIA card), and it works great with my NetGear router.
