I think that the SMC products pretty much suck (sorry for being a
little strong, but that is my opinion).  It's a toss up if the damn
thing is going to work or not.  I would go with NetGear or LinkSys. 
I've had pretty good experiences with them.

We have Lucent wireless access points here at work.  I then take my
laptop home (with a Lucent Gold PCMCIA card), and it works great with
my NetGear router.

Just wondering, for those using wirless networks at home what
products do you find works the best.  I am currently using a smc
wirless router and pc card and am happy with it but I was curious
what everyone else prefers.
