I know, the nerve of Microsoft. It wouldn't let me install SP1 for =
WinXP either, it gave an error that said something about my copy not =
being "legal". My cousins friends brothers landscaper assured me that =
it was legit!

make sure they have a legit copy of WindowsXP. Since SP1, Windows =3D
update won't work with bogus copies of XP. I'm sure there are ways =3D
around that if you look hard enough.

Sorry for the off topic but I think that someone on this list has
probably seen this one. I have one of my clients running xp pro on
their machine and when I go to windows update from MS's site, it doesn't
do anything when I hit "scan my computer for updates". IE just sits
there and never scans the local machine.
