This white paper describes upgrading Exchange Server 5.5 to the
Microsoft Windows 2000 platform and addresses coexistence with Windows
NT for your deployment strategy.

Yes I double checked the primary account. It is set to ehe W2k account.
What needs to be done to setup a trust correctly between the W2k domain
and the NT domain. Does anyone know of a good document or article
describing this process?

I can resolve the Exch 5.5 server name from a box on the W2k domain.
But only after I pointed the primary and secondary WINS servers to the
WINS server on the NT domain.

We had to do this because we are mainly and NT shop for now. But we
have a new program that a particular office has to run and it has to run
on W2k so we setup a new domain. We will eventually start moving all
servers over to this domain, once we are ready to migrate.

Thanks,

Are you sure that you specified the W2K account as the Primary NT
account on your Exchange 5.5 server? If so, and your trust is working
(two one-way trusts) then your users shouldn't have any problems
connecting to it. Also, can you resolve the Exchange 5.5 servers name
from a user logging into your Citrix server on the W2K domain side?

Also, why did you do this? Are you migrating your domain by building a
new one?

Chris

Subject: [THIN] OT: Win 2k domain to nt domain

We have a current Windows NT 4.0 domain. We have built up a second
Windows 2k domain. Our exchange server is on the old NT domain but we
have users on the 2k domain that need to run outlook against the
exchange 5.5 server. I have tried setting a trust between the 2 domains
but I am missing something somewhere. I ended up having to point the 2k
boxes to the WINS server in the NT domain so that they could resolve the
name of the servers. I have apparently got the trusts setup now but
when I try to login to exchange on the 2k citrix server it can't get
into the exchange. If I log in as an admin it works. I have added the
new domain accounts on the 2k domain to the account info in the exchange
mailbox but it won't let that user connect to there mailbox. Does
anyone have any idea what I might be missing or what I can look for?

PLEASE HELP...thanks.
