Its not that hard to setup, you just need to have a certificate server and issue certificates. The value here is you have client to server and server to client validation. You can't get that with PPTP. -----Original Message----- From: Evan Mann [mailto:emann@xxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Wednesday, November 27, 2002 12:17 PM To: 'thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx' Subject: [THIN] Re: OT: W2k and VPN I use MS PPTP connections. I've done it direct to Win2K RRAS and direct to a Watchguard Firebox.=20 PPTP has known security holes (mostly patched) but it's still mostly insecure. You could use L2TP or IPSec. L2TP is pretty much as easy to setup as PPTP but IPSec requires a lot of work to get going. -----Original Message----- From: Jonathan K [mailto:newave@xxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Wednesday, November 27, 2002 12:07 PM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] OT: W2k and VPN Is anyone using the vpn services provided in W2k for remotely accessing their networks?
