Mmm, but the downgrade is no help for hardware which only has Vista drivers for
it, which is trending now.

Bill,
I have a couple of sources that have asked not to be disclosed that are pretty
close to the source.
They both say MS is looking a different options but have not thrown in the
towel as of yet.
I was told just yesterday that the free XP downgrade is still available for
end-users directly from MS.

This is OT for these forums but you guys are pretty close to the vest from a
Microsoft perspective so I thought I'd throw this out here.
Can anyone confirm any of the rumors floating around about Microsoft backing
off Vista and/or trying to develop and release their desktop successor quicker
due to all of the grumblings about Vista? Anyone have any articles or
information regarding some of the rumors floating?
