Hi Joanne, Don't forget about Bart's PE boot disk to recover data. http://www.nu2.nu/pebuilder/ It also has some great tools included on it. ( http://www.nu2.nu/pebuilder/plugins/) You should also look at adding Sysinternals Disk commander for recovery and some of their other tools. I use BartPE all the time on dead systems to try and recover. Jim Kenzig CEO The Kenzig Group http://www.kenzig.com Sponsorships Available! Do you guys have any favorite third party disk management tools or utilities for desktops that have saved your butt? I feel we shouldnât have to recover data, because users should be saving to the network. And why try to save a power surged dirty messed up disk? But hey, the boss is a spending mood and the level 1 techs may benefit. I use chkdsk to repair or if that doesnât work can I usually get data off the bad drive by plunking in a boot drive. Iâve used File Scavenger with great results. But thatâs about it. I donât believe in magic, or putting the disk in the freezer etcâ Thanks,Joanne
