Found the answer for those interested. The users are running Windows XP =
Pro and after we installed Service Pack 1 they went ahead and enabled =
the built in Firewall - disabling this stopped the delay and returned =
them to normal Outlook response times.

Subject: [THIN] OT: Outlook Notification Delay

Very off topic but maybe some else has experienced the same issue. Seems =
=3D
like 2 of my users running Outlook 2000 have problems with the delivery =
=3D
of new mail. If I send one of them an email, the new mail notification =
=3D
does not show up until they switch from the inbox folder to another. =3D
This happens with both internal mail and external mail. Both of these =
=3D
users have been given new pc's, tried re-building profiles, checked all =
=3D
settings. Any ideas??? To me this is not super important more of just a =
=3D
pain in the butt for the users.

PS - Server is running Exchange 2000 (was running Exchange 5.5 and still =
=3D
had the same issue), Client has had issues running both Outlook 2000 and =
=3D
XP.

Thanks
