[THIN] OT Outlook 2003 POP

I've got one user with office 2k3 on a new dell installed laptop who
uses pop w/ exchange 2000. Everything works fine for a while, but after
a couple of days of use it no longer accepts his password...he can try
20 times and never get locked out (policy is 3 to lockout). So i'm
thinking his credentials aren't being passed along to the mail server at
all. OWA authentication works great. POP works great for everyone else
(albeit on older versions of Office). Anyone seen this or have any
ideas?
oh yeah..i also tried IMAP...same problem.
