We have an automatic emergency generator here. When the power goes out, there is a 2 second outage which starts the generator and then the users don't notice the difference. I just plugged all of my equipment the I am going to keep running (critical printers and work stations) into a UPS. If your printer is networked, don't forget to include any switches or hubs that require power in the generator scheme. Hope this helps Jeff Jesus Loves You -----Original Message----- From: k9momof3 [mailto:k9momof3@xxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Wednesday, September 24, 2003 11:14 AM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] OT: Laserjet Voltage Requirement -- Generator Hi all. Sorry for this OT message. We just bought a massive generator to run our entire office during a blackout. It's emergency services and during emergencies such as a blackout, we may need to print MSDS', etc. I'd like to set up our HP Laserjet 4000 N to run off the generator during a blackout but I can't seem to locate any documentation about voltage requirements. Last resort I'll call HP but I was wondering if any of you have set up a printer to run off a generator and if you had to do anything special. TIA!
