If you need to wax exchange, I'd dismount your databases and stop Exchange services. Run eseutil /mh on all databases to check for clean shutdown. If so, copy *.edb and *.stm from mdbdata to a safe location. I think you should be able to put them back and mount them after your reinstall without much hassle. In upgrading from Nfuse 1.5 to 1.7 (uninstalled 1.5 and attempted install of 1.7), I found that my IIS metabase is corrupt. My domain controller is W2k Advanced Server and runs IIS as well as Exchange 2000. I've been researching correcting this problem and I came up with the following list of steps. I was hoping to get your feedback/suggestions as to whether or not I've covered all my bases. And hey, if you know a better way I'm all ears!!! Thanks so much! 1. Export public folders. 2. Use exmerge to backup user mailboxes (a cya in addition to regular full backup). 3. Copy inetpub to another location (another cya) 4. Stop exchange services. 5. Rename metabase.bin to metabase.old 6. Uninstall exchange. 7. net stop iisadmin /y 8. Uninstall IIS then reboot. 9. Reinstall IIS then reboot. 10. Windows Update to apply Windows service pack(s) then reboot. 11. Copy back inetpub. 12. Reset up web applications. 13. Install Exchange and apply service pack. 14. Remove IIS sample directories. 15. Use exmerge to copy back user mailboxes. 16. Import public folders. 17. Install Nfuse 1.7. ******************************************************** This Week's Sponsor - Emergent Online EOL's Universal Printer new Features include: Network Printing, Pagestreaming, 2400 DPI.
