This caused me a fair amount of grief also.
You need to use the driver a got from the following link
http://www.compaq.com/support/files/deskpro/us/download/14684.html, then
configure the slot parameter in the protocol.ini .

Normally the intel 100 ndis driver works fine for me with Compaq servers.

Sorry for the OT: but....

I am trying to create a ghost image of a Compaq DLG380/G2 Server, and am
having problems getting the Ghost Boot Wizard to make a useable drive
mapping boot disk.

The server has a Compaq NC3163 Fast Ethernet NIC and I am using Symantec
Ghost 6.51 Enterprise.

Does anyone have either a boot disk that works with this card or
instructions for making one?
