[THIN] OT: Freelance writing rates for tech writers?

recommendations, I thought I'd toss this one out too. I've been approached to
do some freelance articles, and was asked to set my price per word. All the
writing I've done in the past was paid per page, and set by the publisher. So
I'm a little lost as to what I should ask for. Anyone have some good rules of
thumb? I know some of you out there do some freelance writing ;)\par
