Upgrade to an AD domain first then Exchange 5.5 to 2000 =20 The AD domain depending on how many controllers you have) shouldn't take = too long (may be 1 nite then a week of testing) then upgrade the rest of the = DCs the next weekend to include installation of Exchange 2000 server then migrate mailboxes and public folders the second weekend and test for a = week to ensure proper operations. The key to the migrateion is to have a = solid roll back plan. Take a look at the white papers and howto's in technet they help alot -----Original Message----- From: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On = Behalf Of Rowlandson, John Sent: Friday, June 27, 2003 9:43 AM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Re: OT: Exchange server migration Mallesons Stephen Jaques www.mallesons.com Confidential communication exch 5.5 to a 2000 migration is a big job same as 5.5 to 2003 2000 to 2003 is easy if you can get to 2000 on a well known platform and get the benefit of = =3D support and reliability=3D20 then tackle the relatively easy upg to 2003 late this year early 2004 john in OZ John Rowlandson Technical Support Specialist Mallesons Stephen Jaques Sydney T +61 2 9296 3653 F +61 2 9296 3676 john.rowlandson@xxxxxxxxxxxxx -----Original Message----- From: Lonnie Truskowski [mailto:ltruskowski@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Friday, 27 June 2003 11:08 PM To: Thin ( thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx) Subject: [THIN] OT: Exchange server migration Sorry for the off topic, but I need to compile some info to present to = =3D our management.
