Glad to hear that. Let me know if you run into further problems.

I rerun the ForestPrep and DomainPrep and now, the mailbox is
functioning properly. Will be glad to get rid of the SBS box.

I would check your local DNS settings on your Exchange 5.5 server. If
they appear to be in order, then it may call for you to reboot your
server. BTW, what version of Windows is your 5.5 server?

Hey guys, one thing I'm having problem now is when I try to replicate
my Public folder, I need to do this from Exchange 5.5 Admin. But from
Exchange 5.5 Admin, I can't seem to get a connection to Domain
Controller. It kept telling me that "Microsoft Exchange Administrator,
Failed to connect to Windows NT Domain Controller". I think it is still
looking for my old NT4.0 PDC which is no longer there since it got
upgraded to W2K DC. And yes, I do have that DC running PDC emulation.

Forgot to mention, it's not the MOVE command in the ADU&C MMC snapin,
you need to make sure that you have the Exchange Features context menu
option. If you don't have this, then you either have a problem with the
ADC Schema update, or you don't have the Exchange 2000 Admin Tools
installed.

Importance: High

Actually, you can only use Active Directory Users and Computers MMC
Snapin to move users from Exchange 5.x to Exchange 2000. After you do
this, SYNC the domain so AD is updated. ALSO, make sure that you HAVE
ABSOLUTELY NO DNS PROBLEMS WHAT SO EVER. I would move one mailbox as a
test, then try to send and receive email both internally and externally.
I ran into a problem recently where the Exchange 5.5 server had a
different DNS Suffix than what the Internal DNS namespace was, and was
causing MTA Bind issues. Once I changed this in the NIC properties, I
still had the same problem. It turned out that the DNS entry for the
Exchange 5.5 server was never created, so when I created it I restarted
the Exchange 2000 MTA Stacks service, and mail was flowing just fine.

Actually I would leave it up and running until you are sure that al of
the mail has been moved just in case. Maybe for 2 weeks or so

Drew, thanks for that. They are both in the same site so I will just
be moving mailboxes. I guess after moving the mailboxes, all I need to
do is power down my old an tired 5.5 box?

Wait! Are the two servers in the same site? If so, you don't have to
use exmerge, you can just move the mailboxes. Exmerge will destroy your
single instance storage...
