Mike,

I still believe this to be an Exchange 5.5 issue, where the directory
is not updating correctly. If you created a new user yesterday, and
they couldn't log into the mailbox until this morning, then that is a
directory issue.

Also, do you have the ADC installed?

Chris

Is this is an AD domain?

UPDATE: well I setup a user and it didn't work. Then came in the
next morning and it worked. GO figure. Something was taking a long
time to propagate or something. Not sure but it did work.

This is obviously a permissions issue. What I would like to know is if =
you have the Post SP6 Rollup Package on your NT4 servers? Check your =
Exchange servers and your DC's in the NT 4 domain. You might need to =
get Microsoft involved and get some network captures, so they can =
analyze them.

I have configured the users exchange account to use the primary nt =
account that is an acct on the 2k domain. She logs into the 2k domain =
xp server and runs outlook. I set her outlook up to point to the =
exchange server on the nt 4 domain, and I hit check name and it resolves =
her name and appears ok. Then I go to run outlook and it
says:

"Unable to open your default e-mail folders. You do not have permission =
to log on."

Any ideas?

Do you have multiple Exchange servers? If so, then you will have to =3D =
edit the Directory object, and select Check Consistency. It's located =
=3D under the server object in the Exchange directory.

Also, what is the exact error message you are getting when the client =
=3D attempts to log in?

I checked the trusts. They are still fine. What is a KCC check?

I would check the domain trusts again. Also, have you run a KCC check =
=3D =3D3D =3D3D3D on your Exchange 5.5 directory lately?

Yeah that's what we have been doing. They are ticked about it. They say =
=3D =3D3D =3D3D3D =3D3D3D3D they have already done all that to get into =
citrix and =3D they =3D3D don't =3D3D3D want to =3D3D3D3D have to do it =

Hello Michael,

change the user Outlook configuration.

For Outlook XP:
Control Panel
Mail
E-Mail Accounts
View or change existing E-Mail accounts
Select Microsoft Exchange Server and Click Change
More Settings
In the advanced tab select "None" for the logon network security save =
=3D =3D3D =3D3D3D changes

Restart Outlook and you will get an login box.

This is just a workaround, but it works.

Regards

Oliver Woell
