3550's and 3560's are L3 as well. I'm using 3560's with 1 port set to routed to connect a multi site private ethernet network back to a core 6513. I'm doing QoS for voice on the switches since I'm running a VoIP system across the private ethernet network. The AutoQoS features have all the VoIP stuff trusted in/out of the switch, but I needed to prioritize SQL traffic above all ergular traffic (but still below voice). ________________________________ From: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Joe Shonk Sent: Thursday, May 04, 2006 11:18 AM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Re: OT: Cisco IP Precedence 5 Why would you want to apply this on a layer 2 switch? But it may have been the other way around. You'll probably find the same on other switches as well, so keep that in mind when you design how you plan to do this. ________________________________ From: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of DMelczer@xxxxxxxx Sent: Thursday, May 04, 2006 7:27 AM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Re: OT: Cisco IP Precedence 5 Having just completed my CCNP, I think something similar to the following will work for you, Matthew. Of course, you'll need to modify for your own needs, but here goes: access-list 101 permit tcp any any eq 1494 access-list 101 permit tcp any any eq 2598 class-map Citrix match access-group 101 policy-map Citrix class Citrix set ip precedence 5 class default fair-queue 16 int gig1/1 ( <--interface to set precedence on origination) service-policy output Citrix I think this is probably pretty close, although I don't have my notes with me. Good luck. -Dave Melczer dmelczer@xxxxxxxx ________________________________ From: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Matthew Shrewsbury Sent: Wednesday, May 03, 2006 1:59 PM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Re: OT: Cisco IP Precedence 5 Yes it is...I'm just about to complete my CCNA so it all seems a bit overwhelming. Any examples how this can be done? I was planning at each remote site to set outbound traffic on port 1494 and 2598 to precedence 5. Then at host site (where the Citrix servers live) use some kind of wildcard to set just the Citrix servers traffic to be precedence 5. How I do this is beyond me so far.... I would like to setup all of our WAN to prioritize ICA traffic both 1494 and 2598. According to our WAN provider we need to setup our routers to set an IP Precedence of 5. Then when the MPLS network will carry on that priority. How to I set the ICA traffic to a precedence of 5? I'm searching all over the net and finding it hard to find good examples. Any Cisco guru help would be most appreciated.
