My brother wrote a program that will generate a batch file, that, when run,
will put the time and date into environment variables, which you can then
use to rename a file.

I'm sure there are other more elegant solutions, but I've emailed this to
you off list.

  Very basic issue here.



  I get a file named: aut.edtout.dgzfex11.dcrd



  I want to run a script that will take that file, rename it to
aut.home.dgzfex11.$date$time.txt (based on the time the script was run),
then copy it to the c:\Specified  folder.



  Basic, but I can't get the timestamp to go with the filename correctly. J
