[THIN] No new connections

All,
For the past year, I,have been fighting a problem where no new connections
can complete the entire logon process. Symptoms are: user connects,
enters credentials, and then waits forever. Well, I have a server in the
"hung"state, yet I can connect to a published app (wordpad). Normally,
people connect to a full desktop (non-published). What is the difference
between publishing and not publishing as far as logons go with the full
client?
Note: this is not the same published app that I am having problems with
referred to in a previous email.
