Use getsid to lookup the sid, then check it out in the HKEY_USERS looking for that sid. Highlight it and select Unload from the pulldown menu. Try to unload it. If will unload the hives associated with that sid you are in a good state. Also ensure that his session is not disconnected or you don't have a down session sitting out there. But if you can unload the hives you should then be able to kill the prof. If not its reboot time...
