From JK: Blocking the adservers within your hosts file will have the least amount of overhead and is the easist to maintain. See: http://pgl.yoyo.org/adservers/ for a list of servers to block and how to set it up. This actually never used to be an issue, but lately the frequency of the ads is getting to be an issue. Is there a better way than a hostfile or is this the easiest. Additionally if I use a hostfile (127.0.0.1) what happens when the adserver tries to find itself (i.e. pull up a blank window), and will the users end up closing blank windows instead of pop-up ads?
