Subject: [THIN] NOT TO BE MISSED! North East Ohio Citrix Users group
Meeting May 10th!

Hi All,
Just a reminder that the next meeting of the North East Ohio Citrix
Users
Group will be Monday at 4:45 PM on May 10th, 2004 at the Cuyahoga
County Public Library Administration building (2111 Snow Rd Parma, Ohio)
This is going to be an EXCELLENT meeting this month and not to be
missed!

Because of limited space, we ask that you confirm your participation in
our
May 10th meeting by e-mail to
Matt Lesak, Program Chairman at mailto:mtle@xxxxxxxxxxxx

On April 27th, Citrix Systems introduced Citrix(r) MetaFrame(r) Access
Suite
3.0. Chris Hicks, Citrix's Systems Engineer for this region, will
review
the new features in MetaFrame XP Presentation Server platform release
3.0
and MetaFrame Secure Access Manager release 2.2 :

New, more easily-managed licensing with enterprise license server.
New management console - a common management interface that enables IT
administrators to observe and measure access infrastructure performance
across the global enterprise.
SmoothRoaming - a new capability that ensures consistent mobile access
that
is always on, and allows computing environments to follow users across
locations, devices and access outages
Dramatically improved multimedia support - deliver IE at blazing speeds
Migration considerations

During Q1 of 2004, Citrix announced the end-of-life plan for MetaFrame
1.8.
and that version of MetaFrame is no longer sold. Maintenance will end
on
June 30, 2005, and Technical Support for it will be available through
December 31, 2005. Customers who are current with Subscription
Advantage on
MetaFrame 1.8 may migrate to MetaFrame XP Presentation Server at no
addition
fee.

Erik Gerard, Systems Engineer I at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, will
present Strategies for Migrating from Citrix MetaFrame Presentation
Server
1.8 to MetaFrame XP Presentation Server. If you are a current Citrix
MetaFrame 1.8 Presentation Server customer, then you need to attend this
informative session to prepare for your move up to the new features and
benefits XP Presentation Server provides. Erik's presentation will
cover
the Cleveland Clinic's unique, but replicable, strategy for upgrading
their
Citrix Farm with NO interruption of service and minimal hardware costs.
It
includes information about the Cleveland Clinic's 100+ Citrix server
environment and how they overcame a number of obstacles in performing
such a
major upgrade without any downtime. The presentation covers
recommendations
on testing, pilot and processes that can be used by just about any
company.
This is an opportunity to learn from those who have gone before you ....

JB Mills, Regional Manager for WholeSecurity, will show us how the
combination of Confidence Online(tm) and MetaFrame Secure Access Manager
enables employees remote access to the enterprise infrastructure on any
computer, at anytime, without sacrificing security. WholeSecurity's
Confidence Online(tm) solutions employ patent-pending behavioral
detection
technology that automatically identifies and eliminates both known and
unknown threats without requiring users to install or update signatures.
Confidence Online's proven zero-hour detection capabilities prevent the
electronic theft of confidential corporate and personal data by
eliminating
eavesdropping threats, while mitigating the significant losses that stem
from widespread worm infections. As on-demand technologies, Confidence
Online and MetaFrame Secure Access Manager offer reduced deployment and
management costs, centralized administration, decreased support volume,
and
increased productivity and mobility of the workforce.

For an encore, we'll have Erik Gerard, Systems Engineer I at the
Cleveland
Clinic Foundation, back up to the podium to tell us about their
deployment
of MetaFrame Secure Access Manager and the Citrix secure gateway that
provides remote access to the Clinic's healthcare applications for
healthcare practioners. You'll hear how the Cleveland Clinic Secure
Access
Manager project has won overwhelming acceptance by the user community
and
valuable strategies for implementing remote access solutions in
environments
where security demands are set by government regulations, i.e., HIPAA.

Vector ESP, a Citrix Platinum Trusted Advisor, will host Monday's
meeting
and provide refreshments.

This meeting is packed with loads of information, so we'll be starting
promptly at 4:45 PM.
