Cherie,

No, you were correct that best practice is to make them consistent. I don't
know what applications exist on your servers but if one set of them is at
9.2, I would check the apps on the other two sets and see if they will run
under 9.2. If so, I would upgrade those sets to 9.2. If not, you MAY be able
to install 9.2 onto those sets and use it for XP while leaving the old
version to co-exist and be used by the applications.

Clear as mud?

Raff

Hi Raff

So if I have multiple XP servers connecting to the Datastore via a direct
connection with different versions of the oracle client. This should not
cause problems?

I have just moved to a new company and the servers are using 9.2,8.1.7 or
8.1.57.

I have always thought it best to keep them on the same version.(kind of like
"don't tempt Murphy"). Am I being overly cautious?

Thanks

Cherie
