Yes it looks like it takes it then when you try to call for the altaddr it
says the server is not configured

I did try that you can not use the DNS name for the Ipaddress in the
altaddr
command.=20

Not natively. BUT why not try using a DNS name in place of the IP in the
altaddr IP. Then you can use some smart DNS on the outside to do what
you are looking for.

from the server so user can still connect to the Farm using the Altddr
