I would do it like this 1. A backup copy of the file MF20.mdb must be available. lt's also recommended that the file MF20.dsn is used aswell, however if the file MF20.dsn is not avail able it can be ereated manually. 2. Copy the file MF20.mdb and MF20.dsn to the new host that will be used as new datastore server. Put the files in=20 %systemdrive%\program files\citrix\independent management architecture. 3. Open MF20.dsn with notepad and edit the field WSID=3Doldhost to=20 WSID=3Dname of server 4. Stop the IMA service on your old Data Store 5. Open a command session on your new DS server and issue the command:=20 dsmaint config /user:citrix /pwd:citrix=20 /dsn:"%systemdrive%\program files\citrix\independent management=20 architecture\MF20.dsn If you have changed the user, and/or password use that information instead of /user:citrix /pwd:citrix 6. Stop and restart the IMA service 7. For each server in the MetaFrame XP server farm issue the command dsmaint failover and supply the name of the new datastore server.=20 8. Start the IMA service on your old DataStore 9. Stop and restart the IMA service for each server in step 7=20 -----Original Message----- From: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Minero Hector B DLVA Sent: den 20 februari 2004 13:59 To: Thin (E-mail) Subject: [THIN] Moving the Access IMA DS to a new server Hi all, I'm planning to move the Data Store (Access) to a new server. All servers on this farm are NT 4.0 TSE + MetaFrame XP 1.0 (No FRs), yes I know it's old, but I can't upgrade. Anyway, I did some searching and I found the following procedure. Could you please let me know if you see anything wrong with it? I'd appreciate it. How to move the IMA DB from "Oldserver" to "newserver" if you use indirect access to the database 1. Stop the ima service on the old server 2. Copy the mf20.mdb to the new ima server to the following path: "C:\Program files\Independent Management Architecture\" 3. Start imaservice on the oldserver 4. Create a new DSN (file dsn) entry in the same folder and name it mf20.dsn (ODBC -Access) Go to Start-->Programs-->Administrative Tools-->Data Sources (ODBC). Click on "File DSN". Click on the drop down and Browse to where your current MetaFrame DSN resides. Once there click add to add your DSN. 5. Call on all servers, except the newserver, in the dos box "DSmaint Failover NEWSERVER" 6. On the newserver call: "DSmaint Config /user:citrix /Pwd:citrix /dsn:"C:\Program files\Citrix\Independent Management Architecture\mf20.dsn" 7. regedit on oldserver and newserver oldserver HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix\IMA\DatabaseDriver\Imaaccess.dll to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix\IMA\DatabaseDriver\Imaodbc.dll Newserver HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix\IMA\DatabaseDriver\Imaodbc.dll to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix\IMA\DatabaseDriver\Imaaccess.dll 8. Stop and start imaservice on newserver 9. Stop and start imaservice on all other servers Thanks, _________________________________ Hector Minero NSWCDD Code K55 Ph: (540)653-8859 Fax:(540)653-8575 ******************************************************** This weeks sponsor Vizioncore, Inc.=20 --> vc-iMonitor - Performance Monitoring, Control & Reporting=20 --> vc-iControl - Desktop & Start Menu Management & Reporting vc-iMapper --> - Drive, Printer & COM Management & Reporting http://vizioncore.com/products.html ********************************************************** Useful Thin Client Computing Links are available at: http://thethin.net/links.cfm *********************************************************** For Archives, to Unsubscribe, Subscribe or set Digest or Vacation mode use the below link: http://thethin.net/citrixlist.cfm ******************************************************** This weeks sponsor Vizioncore, Inc. --> vc-iMonitor - Performance Monitoring, Control & Reporting --> vc-iControl - Desktop & Start Menu Management & Reporting --> vc-iMapper - Drive, Printer & COM Management & Reporting http://vizioncore.com/products.html ********************************************************** Useful Thin Client Computing Links are available at: http://thethin.net/links.cfm *********************************************************** For Archives, to Unsubscribe, Subscribe or set Digest or Vacation mode use the below link: http://thethin.net/citrixlist.cfm
