Interesting that we are both running Symantec 9 I wonder if this is a coincidence though. ----- Original Message ----- From: Rusty Yates To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Thursday, August 26, 2004 9:01 PM Subject: [THIN] Re: MobSync / Client Side Caching We are running 2003 Servers / Citrix 3.0. We also have all our servers running Symantec AV Client v 9.0. I haven't removed the mobsync registry but I did set it under MSCONFIG to not run on startup. I still havent actually found what was the exact cause of the problem was. The only common apps amongst the farm was that we were using Citrix IM to push packages out and Symantec Av client version 9. BTW Have u removed the mobsync registry entry from HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run Let me know how you get on. regards ----- Original Message ----- From: Rusty Yates To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Thursday, August 26, 2004 8:01 PM Subject: [THIN] Re: MobSync / Client Side Caching I'm using a 2003 Dell NAS and offline caching is disabled on the profile share. I don't think it is disabled on the My Documents share though. Do I need it disabled there also? I have unregistered mobsync and have had zero issues. As a matter of interest are your profiles on a windows 2000/2003 server ? If so have you disbabled offline caching on this share ? Regards ----- Original Message ----- From: Rusty Yates To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Cc: James Hayes Sent: Wednesday, August 25, 2004 10:29 PM Subject: [THIN] MobSync / Client Side Caching Does anyone know if mobsync / Client Side Caching is need in a Citrix environment. Currently we are using roaming profiles and redirecting the My Documents folder. I'm asking this questions because of the following error: Event Type: Warning Event Source: EventSystem Event Category: (52) Event ID: 4356 Date: 8/25/2004 Time: 4:13:41 PM User: N/A Computer: CITRIX Description: The COM+ Event System failed to create an instance of the subscriber {6295DF2D-35EE-11D1-8707-00C04FD93327}. StandardCreateInstance returned HRESULT 8000401A. I've got a fix from Microsoft - http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=289650#appliesto But it requires unregistering the Mobsync.dll which will make Client Side Caching no longer work. So do I really need Client Side Caching?
