I think from your input I can rule out mixing profiles to keep it
simple. I really don't want to go with Flex because we are a small
Citrix site and I don't want the extra complexity. Thank you and
everyone for the awesome input!

Hi Matthew,

I've had someinteresting issues with mixed (TSE <> 2003) profiles. They
never caused a problem on the 2003 systems but every now and then a 2003
profile on TSE would just break explorer (100% cpu).

We ended up using a combination of roaming profiles with a variable in
the profile location that kept the profiles separate, and using the flex
profile kit to migrate application settings between the two
environments.

Nowadays I'd get the customer to use flex profiles.

regards,

Rick

Interesting, if all the apps are the same on each server you
think the OS can be different and it will still work?

        Thanks for the info!

We were roaming between NT4, 2k, and 2k3 at one time with
minimal issues.

The biggest issues that we did encounter were mainly application
oriented. For example, if a NT4 user who had an OL 98 config opened
OL2k3 on a W2k3 server then if the logged back into a NT4 TS then OL98
wouldn't work right anymore because of changes that OL2k3 made.

I have not been able to find a document explaining if any the
problems that can occur when mixing TS profiles with different OSes. For
example if a user has a TS roaming profile and logs into both a W2K and
W2K3 server will the profile be corrupted or cause problems?
