The recommendations are to run things at the same feature release levels,
until all the servers are upgraded to the same FR level, and then change the
servers all in one go to the latest level

Subject: [THIN] Mixing FRs in a Farm?

We are on a migration path to migrate about 40 servers from NT 4.0 TSE w/XPe
FR1 ... to 2000 w/XPe SP3/FR1 .... then to 2000 w/XPe SP3/FR3.

When we bring the first two 2000 ones online they warn use the Farm Metric
Servers need to be upgraded. So we are planning to make them the metric
servers. To active the Metric Summary database they need to have FR2
actived. Should I be worried about having mixed FRs in the farm? Anybody
experience any issues with doing something like this?

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks,
