Actually it wouldn't surprise me at all if Citrix went to a per user model. If
Citrix dropped their price no, I wouldn't complain if they went per user. I
can't see MS going concurrent. I think that would be a huge mistake for them.
I couldn't cheer at all because they would lose revenue if they did that.

So you wouldn't complain if Citrix moved to a per user or per device
licensing model? You wouldn't cheer if Microsoft went to a concurrent
licensing model?

I feel sorry for all those companies that will have to end up buying more
licenses just to keep legal. This will end up costing companies more money
because of the increased amount of licenses they have to buy. Is it cheaper
than if would have been? yes, but please do not mix the license changes with
the cost of the license. Again, they have absolutely nothing to do with each
other and based on past references to MS's per user/per device licensing model
for TS, I pretty darn sure that down road people will agree with what I'm
saying.

It's pretty standard in this industry to license that way. Again, licensing
per user didn't cause an undesirable outcome so it doesn't matter really.

Price drop has nothing to do with the licensing. they are two completely
separate things. Your not comparing apples to apples. Compare the same price
for both levels of licenses. 600 concurrent users vs 3000 at the same price.
No I wouldn't be happy with that.

Yes your saving money but your not saving money because of the way they are
doing licensing. You are saving money because they lowered prices.

      Why not?

The old way let's say a company had 600 concurrent users but had a total
of 3,000 people. They had to pay 75,000 for those 600.
Today they would have to license 3,000 and the cost is 60,000 with the
price drop so how is that not exciting?

I don't consider the change from concurrent to per device/user very
exciting though.....
