If you know Citrix, but not Softricity, then this summary (while overly
simplistic), might help.

Centralized software deployment without installations. SoftGrid does AIE on
a TS/Citrix box, and it does what Tarpon is supposed to do on a desktop
(when released). It handles the shortcuts/icon/file_type_association
delivery to users where needed using AD groups. But it does this a whole
lot better than the Citrix versions because they have been at it a lot
longer and is the only product they had. The virtualization is a "true"
virtualization, it handles a LOT more applications, is manageable, active
updates (apply app patches while apps are in use), and has a very good
"disconnected mode" for desktops. Also the SMS connector is good if you
already use SMS and ZeroTouch is awesome if you need that. Except for
applications that contain device drivers, you shouldn't need to install any
applications on either terminal servers or desktops again if you don't want
to.

How does SoftGrid compare to Citrix? I'm not familiar with the product.

Hopefully now, Softricity partners can now go through Microsoft (and get
paid) instead of dealing with the old regime.

All Softricity Partners were notified of the changes today. All of the news
is very exciting to say the least.
