Interesting. I certainly hope we don't run into any problems....

Thanks for your input.

We have been running in mixed mode with little issue for several months. 4
1.8 servers, 3 XPe-FR1 servers and 1 XPe FR2 server, all in the same farm .

Prior to the start of our migration we attempted to test mixed mode using
eval software in our lab and the eval products would not work at all in
mixed mode. After consulting Citrix we went ahead any ways in production
and never encountered the problems experienced with the eval software.

Subject: [THIN] MetaFrame XP Mixed Mode Migration and FR-1/2

Howdy All,

I am in the middle of planning a migration of an existing MetaFrame 1.8 farm
environment to MetaFrame XPe. We will be wanting to operate in in Mixed Mode
for the period of the migration (~4 weeks) to smooth this transition. I
found a few references regarding that MetaFrame XP FR-1 does not support
Mixed Mode operation. I have been trying to find out some more information
about this, and whether FR-2 is also somehow 'not supported' for Mixed Mode
operation.

Would anyone possibly be able to provide more more information on this
issue, and whether FR-2 is also a problem..?..

Cheers,

Simon Horn
