If you are asking where the license server should be located:

- in an NT 4 domain with TSE
No where. Disable the service, and keep track of it yourself

- in an NT 4 domain with W2K+TS
On one of the W2K Terminal Servers

- in a W2K domain with TSE
Don't know on this one, but I lean towards the "No where" answer. Never
tried it though.

- in a W2K domain with W2K+TS
  On one of your DC's.

Hope this helps,

Glenn Sullivan, MCSE+I MCDBA

Subject: [THIN] MS TS Licensing (newbie question but...)

List,

Who can explain shortly how Microsoft terminal services licensing works, I
mean WHERE should the licenses be added when working :

- in an NT 4 domain with TSE
- in an NT 4 domain with W2K+TS

- in a W2K domain with TSE
- in a W2K domain with W2K+TS

Citrix licensing is easier to undestand compared to MS one.

Thanks
