Wel...when "Print Manager Service terminating unexpectedly" happens "Client
printers not auto-creating" and "Policy printers not always being delivered
" will be the symptoms. Or do these happen whilst the Print Manager Service
is still running?

As for "Default Printer not being kept"...was this an upgraded farm? I
assume that when you refer to policy printers, you mean Session Printers.
There are known issues that are yet to be resolved with regards to the
upgrading of autocreated printers to session printer policies, which are
done automatically during the upgrade process. The resolution is to delete
the policy and recreate it. Don't copy an existing one, as you will copy
the problem with it. There is something wrong within the IMA database that
Citrix are stilll trying to identify.

I assume the wfshell errors are occuring for Published Apps only and the a
Published Desktop works fine. This may be related to a known timing issue.

Try the IntervalsForLogoffCheck registry value. It addresses a known issue
that when launching certain published applications; the session was logged
off before the application was started. The issue occurred if both session
and application startup took several seconds. This registry setting is used
to configure the time allotted before checking to determine if the session
should be logged out because no more user processes exist.

To do this, one must set the following registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM CurrentControlSet/Control/Citrix/Wfshell/TWI
Name: IntervalsForLogoffCheck
Type: REG_DWORD
Value: 5000 Decimal <this is time, in milliseconds>

What this means is that when the logout checker notices that there is no
user process for the session, it will wait a certain interval of time (5
seconds in this case) then checks again. If there is still no process, the
session is shut down.

If you find that it's helping, increase the timeout until it becomes
reliable.

As you can tell, I've had all the problems you're experiencing.

Hope that helps.

Cheers.

 Kind regards,

Hi Guys,

Weâre still having intermittent MPS4 printing issues...

Â Print Manager Service terminating unexpectedly
      Â Client printers not auto-creating
Â Policy printers not always being delivered
Â Default Printer not being kept (probably due to all of the
      above!)

We were advised by Citrix to put the PSE400W2K3R01 roll-up on which has
aggravated another intermittent issue â hung WFSHELL.EXE process upon log.

When we receive that, we have to restart the server before logins can be
processed fully.
