Hi Mark, prob being stupid here, but I couldn't find your source code... cheers, Brian -----Original Message----- From: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of Schill, Mark Sent: 09 September 2004 18:09 To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Re: MFCOM.exe I would recommend using the 3.0 SDK exclusively and just use the features that are supported on your servers. The 3.0 SDK has all features consolidated into one SDK. In my C# application I am using "private IMetaFrameFarm4 MFfarm;" for my farm declaration. IMetaFrameFarm4 corresponds to a FR3 farm object. When using the MetaFrame Com object you have to set your default security to "IMPERSONATE" or else you will only be able to get the farm name and not much more. If you know your way around C# take a look at my project at https://sourceforge.net/projects/cmfie/ <https://sourceforge.net/projects/cmfie/> . Mark E. Now I move onto trying to get one of the vb apps to work. I have installed both Citrix Server SDK 2.3 and MF Presentation Server SDK 3.0 (mfreg from 3.0 used to register server) When I run the farminfo.exe from 3.0 it crashes and I get System.InvalidCastException. On the line farm.Initialize(MetaFrameObjectType.MetaFrameWinFarmObject) (VB.net) When i run the farminfo.exe from 2.3 i get the form screen and it seems to know the name of our farm but nothing else. I ran both using run as and with my farm admin id. I have posted this also to the dev forum but no answers. -----Original Message----- From: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Schill, Mark Sent: Thu, September 9, 2004 9:22 AM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Re: MFCOM.exe You don't need mfcom.exe. Just download mfreg.exe and run "mfreg.exe <SERVERNAME". Mark E. I was using some WSH files and they seemed to be talking to the MF farm ok. But I could not get my VB to work. So I thought I would unregister mfreg and try it again. Problem is that it blew away mfcom.exe and I can't get it back :( I tried running mfreg servername and also mfreg /regserver. The last one tries to create the service but does not but mfcom anywhere. I ended up trying to copy it from our MF server but that did not seem to work. Anyone got any ideas? Is MFREG the only way to get mfcom installed locally? Totally lost. I am also going to post on the developer forum but I don't get many answers there.
