Its our corporate standard; we have been using E:\Program Files\Citrix for 5 years. Everything but the OS is installed on the E: data drive. When looking at the 'Registry' table within the .MSI, it seems a some of these values may be pulling from the registry if they can. I am wondering if I can just pre-define the \HKLM\SOFTWARE\Citrix\Install\"Location"="E:\\Program Files\\Citrix\\" beforehand and it will pull it like it was an upgrade? Could hurt, might help ;) -----Original Message----- From: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Tuesday, November 04, 2003 8:43 AM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Re: MF XPe FR3 Unattended Install Change Partition/Directory Boy... why do I think that is a REALLY bad idea... I picture it like trying to change the program files location for exchange or something. I think it is just reading the progdir variable from the registry and installing based on that. So two questions: 1- Why change it 2- if you are going to do that why not try and change the Program Files dir 3- (and this is a comment not a question) I would advise against it. Citrix is touchy enough about paths and file locations. I am using Orca to edit the MFXP001.MSI file, however, I am not sure which setting to use to point the install directory to the E:\Program Files\Citrix rather than C:\Program Files\Citrix Within the .MSI I am looking at the 'Directory' table; however, all references appear to be relative. I am not sure where 'INSTALLDIR' and 'CTX_MF_INSTALLDIR' are set. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I do not believe this is an option in the unattended.txt.
